The area is blessed with some amazing natural surroundings. SriCity has Nagala Hills to the West and Pulicat Lake to the East. Pulicat Lake is India's second largest brackish water body. Around 200 varieties of birds frequent the area. There are also many other fresh water bodies in and around Sri City.

Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, India, near the village of Nelapattu. It has an area of 458.92 hectares. It is an important breeding site for spot-billed pelicans (Pelecanus philippensis). Nelapattu has two major plant communities, Barringtonia swamp forests and southern dry evergreen scrub. Read More

CHALLENGES

Slowly nature's gifts are disappearing due to over exploitation of reserve forests by grazing and wood cutters. Pulicat lake ecosystem is degrading due to overfishing, damming of rivers emptying into the lake and consequent closer of estuary mouth.
