Image
Tip1 You need a to partner with guide for your area. Take a bird book with you. Tip 2 You need a binocular to see the birds. The best birders have powerful binoculars - even though they can identify a bird 100 yards away by its silhouette. Tip 3 You need to know what to expect in your area. Tip 4 You need to be able to find the birds. To do this, you should learn about the habitat each species of bird prefers. Tip 5 Join a group of other birders. Birders are very friendly and helpful. They are always willing to share their knowledge. We were all beginners once. Bird Watching Practices A bird-watcher and his or her binoculars are practically a cliche. But that's true for a reason. There are few things better suited for this hobby in which participants are trying to get a close look at a subject that tends to be elusive and hard to approach. Connect with Sparrows

Image
Put bird boxes and bird feeders outside your house or in your gardens Water-bowls or a bird-bath in the hot summer afternoon helps birds to re-hydrate. Grow plants and hedges that are native to the place. This encourages some of the common birds to come back. Try to minimize pollution as much as possible. Minimize the use of your cell phone. If possible, use anti radiation cover to protect yourselves and to protect environment. Wisely use insecticides and pesticides. Over use of these substances are harmful in many ways. Don't do bigger things. Only by doing smaller things you can give your support to save this bird and to save our environment.

World Sparrow Day - 20th March

Image
A house sparrow was perhaps the most common bird as far as our childhood memories go. Nests found in almost every place our schools, neighborhood trees and even our own homes, where they lived in colonies picking on food grains and seen with tiny worms in their beaks. Regrettably, the house sparrow is now a declining species. But like all other plants and animals which were once plentiful and are now facing an unreliable future, their numbers are also decreasing across their ordinary range. The causes? The house sparrow is thought to be decreasing for numerous reasons going from the damage of its habitat to shortage of insect food for the young and even the growing effects from mobile phone towers. The idea was to reserve a day for the House Sparrow to express the message of safeguarding of the House Sparrow and other common birds and also mark a day to appreciate the splendor of the common biodiversity which we take so much for granted. Nature, we must understand, will not be aro...
